Cell  tower money

  • Mrs. Jewkes requested $3,000 to be transferred to the principal’s account for staff appreciation.

PTA Updates

Teacher Leadership Team Report (BLT)

  • Figure out how to do activities safely
  • PTA has spirit week planned
  • Keep the spelling bee

 

Data Review:

  • Beginning of year benchmark testing results are available
  • Looking similar to pre-covid years for students who attended PPark in-person
  • New students and online students are testing a bit lower
  • Initial reading score is higher than math

Land Trust / Budget Review:

  • Land trust & TSSA have been corrected — final amounts will be adjusted after October 1 enrollment counts
    • TSSA – $83,400
    • Moved behavior aide to 40 hour workweek as suggested at previous meeting since allocation is larger than expected.
      • Spent $13,000 on assistants and ReadingPlus program
    • Landtrust will be in the $70,000 range. Allocation will be finalized after October 1 enrollment count

 

COVID Updates: 

  • School moves  between green and yellow COVID categories.
  • Home testing does not count toward the school numbers, so the published numbers may be off slightly
  • Masks from Governor are at the school and available
  • BLT (teacher leadership) is looking at activities and how they can adjust them to be COVID safe.
    • Leslie and another member of the SCC will review the proposal and approve
  • Volunteers
    • School community mask usage is high with many classes 80-95% wearing masks.  Other classes have 25-60% wearing masks.  Council discussed finding a balanced approach to serve school community. Volunteers may be invited for Halloween parties, up to 2 people willing to wear masks.
    • Going forward – if a teacher has a specific volunteer need in the classroom, they would submit a proposal to be approved.
    • Alteration to activities and volunteers for COVID plan.
