SCC Minutes

Peruvian Park Elementary

January 12th, 2021

  • Discussion Items
  • Data review
  • District goal is 60% at or above benchmark. Peruvian has ours set at 80% at or above benchmark. 9/12 classes are currently at 80%. 3 of our classes have not met the district goal.  SALTA classes are at 90%.
  • We are now tracking Reading Inventory/Acadience growth as expected growth in addition to growth. This allows us to measure all students including those above benchmark.
  • 1st grade SALTA is looking at targeted instruction using assessment data for specific support even if scores are at or above typical growth as compared to other students.
  • Some students returning from online learning are showing growth deficits.
  • Math data to be reviewed at February meeting.
  • Budget review
  • Land Trust budget is on target.
  • TSSP has surplus. We can move some categories between budgets to create openings for more assistant time. Monies designated for technology will be used to fill Chromebook carts and making sure each grade level has the carts they need.
  • Crescent updates
  • Peruvian side of Crescent is in good shape, almost all classrooms are ready to be moved into.
  • The office will be emptied in mid-February.
  • 10:00 am Friday SCC is invited to tour Crescent.
  • SCC should plan on creating the new SNAP plan.
  • Planning on a field trip for students to visit Crescent on or near March 29/30th, may need PTA/SCC to assist.
  • Moving company will be moving libraries and filing cabinets on March 5th, last moving day will be April 2nd.
  • Peruvian will be requesting a continued learning day on the Monday following spring break to allow teachers a day to prepare classrooms for students. Will be discussed at the first board meeting in February.
  • Transportation update
  • Thanks to Jess Dalton for helping us get one more bus stop on the route!
  • 3 North-to-South stops along route:
    • Old Mission Rd
    • 8600 stop
    • Coppercreek & 13th stop

– 4 buses in our neighborhood, all routes 15-20 minutes.

– Parents will be sent list on where the bus stops will be, along with pickup and drop-off times.

– Kindergarten will have 2 busses and will split the routes as 1 bus used to do.

– Kinder AM students will come to school w/ siblings,  Kinder PM students will go home with siblings.

– Possibly creating a traffic flow chart to show parents and students the way busses will pick up students. Jess Dalton will assist.

– Buses are expected to be grouped by family so students who live together will ride the same bus.

– CSD is not showing transmission of COVID-19 occurring on buses.

– Information will go out in the following weeks in the parent email as well as in a separate email with maps. Zoom meeting for Q&A to follow.

– Inquiry to see if we can find parent volunteers to make sure we haven’t missed any daycare facilities, possibly spending time at the church drop-offs/pickups the first week to ensure students get on buses.

Leslie Jewkes motioned to approve the December minutes.
